Re: BackupBand 0.D

Hello, first let me thank you for releasing this free program! Very very good idea! There is a similar program which has been around for a few years, https://www.mellowood.ca/mma/ , so you might want to take a look at that in case your efforts can be joined. I ran the program, and I think it could i...

Re: Are there any big artists that use FOSS software?

I apologize for sounding negative, but using hardware that runs Linux counts as much as using an Android smartphone :? How does that affect musicians positively? I think that in practice, it makes little difference if a Korg synth runs the Linux kernel or its own, as long as it's compatible with sta...

Re: The Digital Winter (LMMS)

Hello, good piece! Reminds me a bit of 70s synth music like Giorgio Moroder. Did you play all of this on hardware?

Re: Percussion Synthesizer

A percussion synth is much needed! Thank you. Hope you will be making a LV2 port soon  I am working now to developing a small GUI toolkit for my projects in order to replace Qt from Geonkick, thus, enabling to develop for LV2. Common toolkits are not good for audio plugins. Don't LV2 hosts au...

Re: Are there any big artists that use FOSS software?

It'd be a huge popularity boost for free software if someone famous admitted to using it.

(Not that famous = better, but a name carries a lot of fans)

Re: Guitar-to-MIDI conversion in Rakarrack/Guitarix?

There are many proprietary programs which do it already - Melodyne is a popular one. Sure, a software-only approach will never beat a hexaphonic pickup because it requires extra processing, but it might be good enough for sequencing on most computers at least. I hope someone will contribute a polyph...

Re: Audio programming environment in LV2 plugin?

Thanks for the answers, maybe ? https://open-music-kontrollers.ch/lv2/moony/ This is more about creating connections between LV2 plugins I think, and does not support audio ports. https://www.audiopluginsforfree.com/pd-pulp/ This requires a compiling stage (via make). https://github.com/x37v/pdlv2 T...

Audio programming environment in LV2 plugin?

Hello, is there a audio programming environment which can be embedded as a LV2 plugin? It's not a programming question - I want to be able to write my synths and effects in something like Pure Data and use them from my DAW without having to recompile the code to a LV2 plugin every time, just as you ...

The piano roll...oh wait, you aren't talking about FL Studio  You pretty much nailed it. I also like the metal bands from there!

Re: Hello!

Thanks, nice to meet you as well! And thanks for the suggestion. I too struggled with Ardour's MIDI capabilities in the past but now I think it has gotten it down, that's why I switch to it. What do you think Ardour is lacking right now in terms of MIDI capabilities? Well, the piano roll just felt ...

Welcome Steven! Florida is probably one of my favourite places on earth. What kind of music do you want to make?

Re: Hello!

Welcome in your new community :) You seem to have a simliar setup as mine, which means that you have to struggle with latencies/jack-buffersizes: as small as possible for Guitarix and as long as your Ardour-projects need. One solution if you can get 2 interfaces: https://linuxmusicians.com/viewtopi...
