Re: [LAA] Guitarix2 release version 0.39.0

- add new option -E --hideonquit, to make the UI experience smooth when used as LV2 plugin (via Carla export) by Hermann Meyer This is a 'hack' to get Guitarix running as LV2 plugin right? Nope, that's a feature to make the Carla bridge to LV2 experience more smooth with guitarix. It's part of the ...

Re: [LAA] Guitarix2 release version 0.39.0

for the LV2 plugs in the pipe. is that the 'carla-hack' to get JACK Applications running as LV2 plugin? Or is that native LV2? ?? Currently we've a port to GTK(mm)3 for the main interface and a port to X11(cairo) for the LV2 plugs in the pipe. Means, we port the Guitarix main interface to use GTK(m...

Re: Go-DSP-Guitar multichannel multi-effects processor

With Guitarix, I can do 256 samples stable (so ~2.5 ms), 128 samples x-run-s rarely. However, their default cabinet simulation does not use convolution, so it's a bit of an apples to oranges comparison. That's wrong, the cabinet simulation in guitarix is convolution based. The other thing (and that...

Re: [LAA] Guitarix2 release version 0.39.0

Hi studio32

I'm sorry, nope.
Currently we've a port to GTK(mm)3 for the main interface and a port to X11(cairo) for the LV2 plugs in the pipe. That needs to be finished before we could add any new feature.

For those who didn't like sourceforge, there is now a officially mirror of guitarix on github:

Re: dkbuilder: from circuit to LV2 plugin

The example images in the starting post have been lost. Could you please reload them? Hmm, no problem here to see them, they be there for the next 2 years. I'm wondering about the possibility of using dkbuilder to create LV2 plugins of modular synth modules. I guess this should be possible, though ...

Didn't know what you mean, currently it's a ADSSHR envelope.

Re: [LAA] XPolyMonk.lv2 v0.6

I made the VOICES now a parameter, so you could select how many voices you need during runtime. default is set to 6 voices.
Also I switched away from the constant load approve, means, when you didn't play, there is no DSP load.
Hope that makes it a tat more usable on older hardware.

Re: General questions regarding the operation of guitarix

Is something more detailed anywhere out there? :) I don't think so. While the guitarix wiki is badly outdated, the tutorial on libremusicproduction is the best I'm aware of. The Master Gain in the amp section is the amount of signal sent from the pre-amp to the power section, right? If I set it to ...

Re: [LAA] XPolyMonk.lv2 v0.6

For old hardware would being able to change the polyphony make it lighter? It's hard-coded, in XPolyMonk.h line 103: #define VOICES 12 You could adjust it to whatever value of voices you need. Sure, less voices reduce the DSP load. I may be able to make it a adjustment parameter, but, that needs so...

Re: Eighty Eight - Ensemble wav files

sndfile-info from the snfile-tools package may give you some information about the files.
sndfile-play may play the files?

Re: [LAA] XPolyMonk.lv2 v0.6

This has changed a lot since the first version. It seems heavy on CPU. Where other heavy synths use a lot of CPU when they are playing notes and less when silent, XPolyMonk uses a lot of CPU all the time whether it is playing notes or not. Hi merlyn Yes, I've worked a bit on it. The CPU usage, yes,...

Re: [LAA] Guitarix2 release version 0.39.0

I had to use the pre-generated files (Faust) Yea, that's recommended anyway. The --faust option is a developer option, it's to check if a new faust release work well with our build scripts. Without this option, the configure step check if a supported faust version is installed, if so, it assumes yo...

Re: Building guitarix from source code

When using faust to build guitarix, all faust generated files will be re-generated. It barely makes a difference.
It's more a developers then a users option. We need to rebuild those files when we update to a newer faust release, for example, or when we modify our build scripts.
