Re: Scarlett 2i4 2nd Gen Ubuntu 18.04

I am afraid since most people in this forum use JACK as their main sound system and not Pulseaudio you might get more support in other Linux forums.

If I remember correctly they had a bug in their converting software that caused glitches.

Re: Ultralite AVB

About the exchange they had offered, it turned out they had a BIOS change that broke the Linux support, even before the ES version. See the response (they responded after two weeks): Please note, not all UltraLite AVB (non-ES) units will work on Linux, it turns out. The change that unintentionally ...

Re: Drumgizmo interpreting noteoff as low velocity hit

AFAIK instead of note off the MIDI standard allows note on with velocity 0 as well.

So it might be related to your pad's MIDI implementation.

I had the same problem with a Focusrite Scarlett. The ring buffer grew and grew and I couldn't find out why.

Re: JACK - no xruns until wham! 1500 xruns in a row...

I guess something with a higher priority is running during the xruns time, maybe excessive swapping/paging. You could try to "sudo swapoff -a" and see if there's a difference. Thanks, will give that a crack. Swap should reactivate after reboot with that command yes? No reboot needed. &quo...

Re: Drumgizmo interpreting noteoff as low velocity hit

Hey all, I posted this on the official IRC as well, but thought it might be easier to track here I have just installed in drumgizmo on my Ubuntustudio machine and have set it up with Reaper and my Launchpad. Drumgizmo seems to interpret the noteoff events from the Launchpad as a low velocity hit. I...

Re: Thoughts on what audio interface to get

What is your maximum price you want to invest in audio/MIDI interface? Up to 1000 EUR if it has a good internal routing and is fully controllable with a browser, MIDI or hardware knobs. My MOTU UltraLite AVB was at 649,- EUR and is nearly perfect. If MOTU releases new firmware that fixes the modulo...

Re: Soundcloud

Interesting: I also used Rosegarden in the earlier days of my GNU/Linux journey. I don't know why, but later version did crash sequentially over and over on my side. Nowadays I'm really happy with Qtractor. In my early days I found Rosegarden to be very intuitive and had problems with Qtractor's wo...

Re: Please share your gnu/linux music production setup

Are you willing to share your Hydrogen drumkit? I shared it already in the end of the days of the old Hydrogen page/forum. But this was only for 0.9.6, I think, and I don't know if they still have it on their new page. So I packaged two versions into one .tar.gz file. It's either for 0.9.6 (maybe a...
