Re: Carla in a Reproduction Environment

But it has MIDI player plugin since 2014, if not even earlier, and this is mentioned on this exact forum. You're misleading.

TIL that carla has a midi sequencer plugin

Re: Hey peeps! Getting back into making music... and linux!

If you have only an onboard audio card you'll probably want at least a low-latency kernel. It's in the standard Ubuntu repos.

Results with machines may vary of course.

Another thing, you'll only need low latency when recording with mic/line in/hardware midi.

Falktx stuff in the Arch/AUR is pretty up to date.
The packager and falktx reguraly communicate about this on irc.

Have a go at https://mix-challenge.com/ The competition being here to actually finish a song within one month, a competition with yourself so to speak. It doesn't have to be a grand masterpiece. You don't have to im...

Re: GUI: JUCE ?

If a plugin uses gtk or qt or any other big toolkits it undoubtedly will clash with the daw. Ardour will probably blacklist the plugin for example My plugin crashed ardour because I linked against aubio 4 and ardour uses aubio 3. Now this is a small library and falktx helped me link it statically. S...
